Tasbih
Dear Diary,
New Year, New Me!
The End.
We hear this phrase every year, and every year we go to the gym for the first week, get distracted by life, and, well, old habits as they say, die hard. This year, I've created a plan—a plan that consists of accountability, gratitude, and, most importantly, the recognition of Allah (SWT) in my everyday life.
This year will be a year of trial and error, a year in which we cleanse our hearts to allow ourselves to experience the mercy of our Lord. With a cleansed heart, the eyes become clear, and conversation with Allah (SWT) through His ayat becomes easy. Whatever is in the heavens and the earth is a sign for the believer... This has been stated many times. Allah (SWT) has given us a cheat code to life, and all we have to do is look.
And that, my dear readers, is my plan: to look beyond.
Even while writing this, I hear the chirping of the birds. In the past, this melody would've been overlooked, but today I stopped for a moment and listened. I listened to the sound of shukr (thanks) within the chirps. I felt the wind in a state of Sujood, and in that moment, I was in the presence of something greater.
Let me tell you a little secret... We are engulfed in the signs of Allah (SWT); all we have to do is take a deep breath and ponder the world. Now that I think about it, it’s not really a secret at all. I mean, Surah Adh-Dhariyat verse 20-21, Surah Al-Jathiya verse 13, and many, many more.
"And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth—all from Him. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who give thought."
—Surah Al-Jathiya (45:13)
May Allah (SWT) open our hearts and allow us to truly recognize and understand His signs. May He give us strength to stay determined on this path, and may He raise us with the lovers of Imam Mahdi (A.S.).
And with that... the 2024 season has come to an end.
Yours Truly,
TMG
